Bing: Not Swayed By Google’s Mobile First Index

Interestingly Bing will continue to utilise a single index for both mobile and desktop. Stating that a single index for all devices will serve “the most relevant, fresh and consistent results no matter where users are”.

Microsoft are setting their sights on competing with Google & Facebook in the AI (artificial intelligence) market space. This partnership is mutually beneficial for both parties, the two of which focused on developing long-term positive effects on society.


Google Rich Cards: Expand to Local Restaurants & Online Courses

In addition to expanding rich cards to local restaurants & online courses, Google has also changed the user interface to resemble the original carousel. Vertical rich cards enable users to swiping through restaurant recommendations & browse for courses online more effectively.

Note this feature is only available in the US, however are currently testing new verticals globally.


Google Local Restaurant Rich Cards

Google+ new beta feature enables you to markup content to generate a host-specific carousel of restaurants in the search results. If implemented, users searching for nearby restaurants will see an AMP like carousel of suggested venues to dine at (see above image).
